We’re pleased to bring you more helpful information about Santa Fe and why locating here is the right move for any company.

Santa Fe is the U.S.’ oldest capital city, and apart from being the end of the trail for wagon trains moving west from Missouri in the late 1800s, we were one of the busiest commercial centers of the new west. Back in the buckboard days it was a common sight to see our Plaza (the heart of downtown Santa Fe) teeming with a mix of cowboys, native Americans, caballeros, merchants, traders and people of all types, on the move.

Our history as a commercial center in the 19th and 20th centuries owes part of its existence to the railroad which brought goods and new settlers from all over the USA. In the very early years, our city fathers decided to create a community that had tourism as one of its principal economic pillars. They enshrined in our building codes what is now known as the ‘Santa Fe Style’ – architecture that preserved the essence of the old west and the Spanish and Native American influence. Indeed, a walk through modern Santa Fe is like a walk through the history books with impressive old structures that, if they could talk, would tell the tales of a hearty multiethnic people bent on carving out new lives in a rich environment of art and commerce.
